The ACC board members have met this past week to review and discus the Order of the Health Officer of the County of Santa Clara and the appendix on Outdoor Swimming Pools (Appendix C1 Additional Businesses Allowed to Operate (effective June 5, 2020). To abide by these orders, we will have to significantly alter our normal operating procedures and rules for both recreational swimming and lap swimming, or risk being fined $20,000. Specifically, and in order to maintain costs at a minimum, following is a summary of changes that will have to be imposed if we were to open our cabana club this season.
All members in all areas of the club are to comply with the county’s 6ft social distance order - face masks are to be worn.
Cabana recreational swim to be limited to members only by reservation with controlled entry, time limitations, and number of families that can be on the cabana grounds and pool at the same time.
Lap swimming to be restricted to mornings only. As always, members only, and by reservation with controlled entry, time limitations, and number of swimmers that can be in the cabana pool at the same time.
There will be no lifeguards on duty – parents are responsible to monitor their children’s safety and social distance compliance.
There will be no access to furniture, restrooms, and showers (less to maintain sanitized). No trash and recycle services. Bring your own chairs.
For more details on how the operations are to be changed, you can reference the evolving plan/proposal here.
In order for us to finalize the plan, and given the need to comply with the orders, we need to hear from you regarding your expected use of the cabana and pool. We are still in the mist of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Some members may not be interested in using the pool altogether. Other members may be interested in using the pool but not under these restrictions. For those that are interested, even under these restrictions, your usage expectations are necessary in order for us to plan accordingly and up to the limits currently set by the county health officer. That said, we appreciate your prompt response to this survey as we endure to open the cabana by this coming weekend if possible.
